Traditional Piano
Basic piano instruction involving the study of theory, technique and performance. This instruction involves the use of lesson books designed to develop the students ability to play basic traditional piano.
Jazz and Blues Improvisation
Basic instruction in the concept and approach to improvising in several blues forms. Also instruction in jazz improvisation including the study of jazz chord voicing, modal approach to improvising and general application of jazz piano concepts.

Computer Music Theory
Carl has invested time and effort to develop music theory training using some of the latest music educational software available. Through the use of several different music educational software programs, the student can master music theory concepts. This allows the student to have a much deeper understanding of how music functions, which in turn helps the student to be a more proficient pianist. These programs also help the student greatly in the study of jazz , blues, rock and pop types of playing and improvisation, and, in general, the approach to playing a more free form style of piano.
